Free Tam Pattern
This tam makes a perfect gift, quick to make, and it can be make in so many fibers. Use Colinette's Mohair, Mirasol's Sulka or Araucania's Aysen. All of these yarns will each give you a different look, but every tam will be gorgeous. This pattern is knit in the round, but it is a very easy pattern for adults. Materials: at least 95M of yarn, circular needles 40 cm 4.5 and 5.5mm, double point needles 5.5mm set of 4, marker Tam With small circular needles, cast on 78 sts. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 10 rows. Change to larger circular and working in stocking stitch (K every round), proceed: - *K13, M1; rep from * 6 times. 84 sts

Continue to increase as established on the next and every alternate round 4 times more, add one more st between incrs. (114 sts). Work even without any shaping for 6 more rounds. To Shape Top - *K17, Slip 1, K1, PSSO; rep from * 6 times.108 sts

Continue to decrease as established on the next and every alternate round 6 times more dec number of sts between dec by one. Change to double points as the number of sts get fewer. Dec 6 sts every round until 6 sts remain. Cut yarn leaving a 5" tail, run tail through live sts, pull tight and secure end on the wrong side. Block and you are ready to wear or give a beautiful tam hand created by you.
